I'd prefer to race any track and use any car instead of working my way up
from the bottom. I've tried the isi-cheesman and isi-tbone that I've heard
about but it does not seem to unlock all the cars and tracks. Does anyone
have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

Tbone should unlock all the tracks and allow you to purchase any car. Use
ISI-AARDVARK to get money to buy anything you wish. Make sure you type the
cheats in the career screen where you buy cars.

You need to type ISI-CHEESEMAN to turn cheat mode on. Then type ISI-TBONE and
ISI-AARDVARK. An acknowledgement should appear in the upper-left of the
screen after every cheat code.

I am very sad I ever heard about these cheat codes. I could not resist
trying them, and now much of the charm of this well designed sim has
gone! My fault, I admit,... I shouldn't have tried them. After having
used them I have nearly left the game... Well I bought it anyhow... ;-/

By the way, why, actually, did they program these "codes" to the SCGT
at all?

Be aware that you can "undo" your cheat codes by creating a
new driver (or so I've been told).
They put those codes in there cause apparently 60% of users
WANT to be able to "cheat."

GPL doesnt hide all cars from you along with all the tracks. The cheat
codes allow you to race on all the tracks and with all cars, just like GPL!

The only reason I used the cheats was for online racing. It's also a good
way to test drive a car before you purchase it with your non-cheating
driver. I also wanted to get all the tracks before GP3 and N4 come out ;-)
