Not sure if this is the right forum, apologies if not...

Just got this one through the post with great expectations as SBK2001
remains one of my all time great racing games. Unfortunately SBK08 has been
a complete disappointment If I didn't know better I'd say that this game is
essentially a poor pre-beta conversion of the XBox title of the same name.

Why the conclusions?

1. Limited resolution support. 1680x1050 - forget it.

2. No mouse support in the menus.

3. Poor keyboard support.... This one is plain weird. In game, the keyboard
is fine, in the menus, half the keys don't work, like the down and left
arrows.....

4. Doesn't detect my joystick. Hence the use of the keyboard in 3 above.

5. Poorly optimized. Performance is bad on my rig (6400 DUO, GTX8800 with
768Mb RAM, 4Gb RAM running on XP Pro).

6. What little of the graphics I have seen, look on par or worse than
SBK2001's, which was released 7 years ago!

All this after the game was patched to v1.1 the latest version.

I have many games on my PC and have no problems with any of them except this
one.

I will be asking for a refund as this game is not fit for purpose.

I take it the developer of the 2008 version has nothing in common with
the developer of the 2001 version. Wonder what ever happened to those
guys who did SBK2001? They had a great graphics engine and should have
used it as the base for more racing sims.

I think Milehouse subcontracted out to Blackbean. I have ridden real bikes
for going on 11 years and found that SBK2001 had by far the best feel of
being on a bike (except the slow speed handling where it fell over too
easily).

all the bike sims suffer for lack of countersteering
