Is there any explanation for this behavior?

For example:
- I just got pissed of at Germany becouse of my stupid spin.
- Started driving wrong way for about 300km/h.
- I hit another car at full speed.
- Find myself by the track without any wheels, any wings and broken
engine.
- Hit -space- for pause and -R- for instant replay
- In replay I'm not driving wrong way at all... just crawling by the
track after the first spin.
- Hit -space- again
- Akrabadabra! I'm still crawling by the track like in replay. Car is
in good shape without any damage at all and I can continue the race!!!
The other car seems to be okay too.

Sometimes the replay works just like it's supposed to work. This
strange behavior usually occurs when you try to watch replay after a
really hard(and stupid) crash.

Can anyone explain what's going on?

are you using the FPS hack to imporve your frame rate? If so, then this is
the reason for your odd replays.

Hold your horses! The bug also happens *without* the fps hack. (it was
even in GP2, BTW) Maybe less often (can't judge), but the fps-hack is
NOT the main cause.

I have exactly the same problem with NO MODS to game, it also happened to
GP2.  Maybe Geoff's programming is a bit,..... "CRAP"?
