looking to get back into online racing but can't find any information.
Thanks for the help
Thanks for the help
Other racing sim developers should take a hard look at what Papyrus is
offering, as they have always managed to keep raising the bar in the multi
environment.

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.

I wouldn't call the *capability* free, but the provided race servers and
opponent matching sections I *would* call free.
With EA... you will pay $50.00 for the game... then they will soon charge
you a monthly fee to play your EA game online (Kesmai will be a pay-for
online portal)
In comparison to where the rest of the companies are going, I'd say WON is
about as free as you're going to get.
Also... notice the move by WON into the Flipside.com umbrella. This is
because WON is losing money hand over***(it ain't cheap to supply all
that bandwidth and servers to ya), so they merged into Flipside (which is a
subscription based business model, and is actually making some money from
those "home-cardgame players). So the move to Flipside is a "bottomline"
move for the corporation (Vivendi), to absorb/hide much of the loss WON is
incurring each month, and to make the stock look better in these volatile
technology times.
Basically... enjoy it while it lasts... you may find yourself faced with
subscription sooner than you think... on all fronts.
Cheers,
Schumi
