With the exception of warding off marauding vampires, what is the
signifigance of a large string of garlic?  A team member of the winning
team(nifty non-spoiler eh?)  was jubulantly(sp?) bouncing up and down while
holding the garlic over the fence.   Is this some F1 backstory?
just curious...

Is Gilroy in Italy? I think that that might be where Trulli is from, cuz the
guy seemed to be a trulli supporter/friend

Although there may be a Gilroy in Italy as well.

I assumed it was a Renault team member, so I think it is probably French
thing.  (The French are the nationality I would most associate with a string
of Garlic)

Found out why on F1-live. He was in Italy someplace with some of Jean
Alesi's friends. They told him a few years ago they gave him this string of
garlic and he got a podium, so they gave it to him and he got a podium,
hence the guy playing around with it all nimbly bimbly.

Jarno Trulli, after a long serie of problems with his car, tied a
string of garlick above it when it is parked in Renault's garage to
put away the bad luck  He started doing this at Silverstone after he
changed his helmet color in Magny Cours.

He must be very supersticious but I must admit that it works.
