WHOA! DTR is fun!!

I just downloaded the demo from avault and played it for close to 3 hours last
night.  I havent even touched any other sims since I installed it.  I love how
you can just dive the car into the turn and with a little throttle modulation
and alot of counter steering keep it on a line.  With my limited real dirt
track racing experiance id have to say it really does FEEL like dirt.  I cant
really say if it feels like a praticular car because my racing was in midgets
and mini-sprints....but it feels like how dirt should feel.  And with the
adjustable dirt condiditons it only adds to this.  Tacky track is good for
racing, dry hard track produces fast laptimes, wet track is slippery...its like
it should be.  I cant wait for the full version to come out.

I just wish they had those funny cars with the huge rear aerofoil. They're
the cars I'm used to seeing dirt racing. They quite often have US vs Aus
championships.

I think you're talking about the winged sprints (world of outlaws
series in the US). The grapevine tells me to expect these cars in the
next version of DTR, or an add-on pack. They require a little more
physics modelling.

Excellent!  I wonder if Ratbag would be interested in doing a "retro" with
the sprintcars (or midgets) of the 1960s, prior to cages and wings being
used?
That's how I remember speedway here in Oz......demolition-derby and
sprint-cars!
