F1C isn't am improvement in many ways

Wow what a disappointment! I knew the graphics would be much like 2002 so I
purchased it for the physics and mostly multiplayer ability. What's the
point of 20 guys when half or more cant hold the latency? That is if you can
find 20 guys and a worthy server. Why can't they design a better multiplayer
client like Papy/Sierra or Battlefield 1942? I just don't get it. This title
should be in the EA budget bin in a few short weeks. Jesus, there is even
still the lag when people join and leave. Not a huge issue but another
example of lack of commitment to its customers satisfaction, and a rush to
put out another game before SONY gets the Formula 1 rights. Look forward to
seeing what Sony does with the ball.

I don't know why I'm replying to this.....

So because you can't find a good server that makes the game bad, does it?
Tried a few pickup races on Sierra.com lately?

Because FIA don't allow dedicated servers, the quality of the server and its
settings is absolutely critical in this game.  Sounds like you've had the
game 5 mins, couldn't find a race online so decided to come here for a
whinge.  I highly recommend that you buy Sony's next F1 game.

"Bustamove"
 Look forward to
Based on past performance you will get a non-cockpit racer with 4 player
multi.

If that is what you are hot for....

Urban myth!

Could be, but an ISI team member is on the record as saying that he wasn't
allowed to implement a dedicated server in F1C due to FIA licensing.  From
what I understand, they had to do fierce negotiation to get any kind of
internet play at all in F1 2002.

Possibly -(if they infact did stipulate no dedicated server) because it
could be considered to be broadcasting formula one.  I know it sound beyond
moronic - but legally - it could be suggested that it's doing just that

***-Rich Bernie doesn't understand that sims ultimately put asses in
seats (as they say in the airline biz).  He's terrified that if a bunch of
Villeneuve and Montoya wannabes out there start playing online, they won't
watch F1 on TV much less show up at the tracks, so he's placed every
conceivable obstacle in the way of enabling online F1 play.  Or maybe he's
just greedy.  I mean, even more ***ly greedy.  Little does he know that
sims are a breeding ground for future fans.  But--too bad for his whorish
wife and feckless children--they'll be future NASCAR fans.

Not a myth, I heard that directly from Gjon Camaj last year.  But it's the
FOA that doesn't allow it, not the FIA.

It is quite possible that Sony will do nothing with F1 as they have made
some awful crappy PC games in the past. Sadly they will have the F1 license
so one can only hope they make a fine racing PC product. Perhaps they can
borrow some of the talent from Papy to make a game worthy of praise. EA
released F1C to get what little extra $'s they can milk from the F1 license.
Sure it drives different and it will take some time on the road before I
give it my nod. When it comes to the multiplayer client it still sucks.
Perhaps someone, when Sony gets the rights, can convince F1 that it is
advantageous to them. As a racer I had to buy it but what a dissappointment.

That would be great if the contract weren't Playstation exclusive.
