Regardless of which games you run, your current combo is fairly well
matched. You could easily grab a 1.2ghz Duron or Athlon XP and keep
your mobo, but your GF2 will be the bottle neck.
2 suggestions for you:
1: Your mobo is using the KT133A chipset, which is able to run at
266mhz FSB. Drop the multiplier to 6.5 and bump up the FSB to the 266
setting. It's performance for free :)
Option 2: Drop in a Duron 1.2ghz and seriously consider getting a
better video card at the same time. GF3 or a Radeon 8500 would be the
best options. No need to upgrade your mobo, most benchmarks show only
a 5% gain by going to DDR RAM. Not worth the expense (or hassle of
reinstalling Windows.)
As far as RAM goes? You'll see almost no performance gain by doubling
your RAM. All you'll get is longer replays available and not much
else. Extra RAM is only really used in 2d apps like Photoshop,
AutoCAD, etc. Spend your money on more CPU processing power or the
like.
