I believe Irvine simply wants equality, which he can't get.
He wants as good a car as Schumacher, he wants the team to support
him, and he wants to be free from being told to lose to Schumacher.
Irvine's negative comments about Schumacher are a perfectly
human reaction to being told he is inferior and being humiliated by
having to sign a contract which institutionalizes that situation, ie
he is contractually obligated to lose to Schumacher. Nobody with the
necessary ego of a racing driver should have to put up with that. No
good racing driver could put up with that.
F1 is a devil's trade. They let you drive the fastest high
tech cars, they pay you a fortune, and they treat you like scum.
Irvine should go to CART or even NASCAR, where all this nonsense is
exactly that. Failing that, he should at least realize that the team
can always sabotage him and there is no way to enforce what he wants.
