Nascar CD vs 3.5"

In response to your query as to the difference between NASCAR on 3.5
diskettes and CD-ROM, there is a BIG difference.  The diskette version
only gives you the VGA version while the CD-ROM gives you VGA and SVGA.
The VGA version is okay, but the graphics in SVGA are spectacular, however
SVGA is very hardware intensive.  If you are running on a Pentium 90, this
should be sufficient to allow you to run SVGA with most of the graphic
features turned on.

As for Formula One sims, the best on the market is "World Circuit" by
Microprose.  This sim is about 3 years old, and is getting a bit long in
the tooth, however it is still a very good product considering its age.
Rumors abound as to an updated version to be released this summer.

Nascar CD vs 3.5"

by Colwe » Wed, 08 Mar 1995 15:31:09

I have just come into contact with a P90 and the Nascar Demo and was very
interested in checking out this program further, but I had a few questions:

There seems to be a floppy and CD version of Nascar available.  WHat is
the difference between these two formats?

Is there also a CD/floppy dichotomy for IndyCar?

Finally, can anyone reccommend a realistic pc F1 simulation?

thank you in advance...

The main difference is that the CD version contains SVGA graphics
whereas the 3.5" version does not. CD version also contains some
audio tracks(music).
I have the 3.5" version, I didn't realize at time of purchase that
it didn't have SVGA. Oh well.

have fun.
