Spirit of Speed fans in U.S.-

Mon. 7/23

I am currently watching "SILVER ARROWS OF ZWICKAU" which is an hour
documentary on the history of Auto Union race cars.  It is repeated
later tonight.  Great footage of the old cars, drivers, and tracks of
the early race era.  Great stuff from Speedvision as always.  Roll
tape.

That is great footage, unfortunately as you watch it you realise just
how poor an effort SoS turned out to be.

I'm still holding out hope for a Silver Arrows GPL mod. Most of the
tracks are there.

I guess any racing from early historic eras will have to be recreated
in mods for GPL or WSC, since only current F1, NASCAR, Rally and
occasional sports car sims are released commercially it seems.  I
wonder what other eras would hold the most interest for the sim
community, taking into consideration variety of car designs and tracks,
going back to the sport's beginnings.

I would really like to see a simulation of the
early days of stock car racing.  Perhaps a career
mode that goes from local quarter-, third- and
half-mile tracks all the way up to Daytona...when
it was still a beach.  We're talking postwar to
early 1960s.

Remove "hi" from address or it will bounce....

70's and 80's rallycross (the proper european stuff not that driving round
ticker tape in the US)
I'd pay good money for that.

cheers
