Hello all,
I just upgraded to a PII 300 and was reinstalling N2. When I try to install
it it says "System error- the file you are trying to open is already open by
another program.. cancel.. retry" I have re-booted and tried everything i
can think of. I even tried copying the cd to my hard drive to see if it was
a cd driver, but no luck. My other games installed fine. Any help you can
provide would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure all other applications are closed.
You can terminate everything by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL.
End all tasks except for SYSTRAY and EXPLORER.
If that fails, install from DOS (reboot into DOS)
and make shortcuts to the executable in Win95 :)

Here's how a helpful Sierra Tech got me through this one: He said it
was due to the installer being older and incorrectly identifying a
component on my system during the testing process.
1. Delete the sierra.ini file from your c:\windows directory
2. Restart your computer
3. Start the Nascar 2 installer
4. When the installer asks to test your system SAY NO.
5. The next screen will show that you have failed the majority of the
tests, ignore that and continue with the installation. The game will
install fine then.
If you do not skip the system test you will have to start all over.

I also think I read something once about deleting/renaming the sierra.ini
file before re-installing. I haven't tried it, though.
