Nascar 2:The Heck?!?!

Nascar 2:The Heck?!?!

Ok, with the 100+ new messages per day, I admit there may be some
mention of this in the past, however, I "may have" missed it.

Anyway (to the point)...

I was practicing for the upcoming race at Darlington (N2) crusing down
the front straight, when all of a sudden a car I was passing shoots
over and clobbers me!  (Ok, this is stuff I do when I have damage
turned "off")
-The car which hit me (I have a replay! Honest! he hit me!) was pitted
on the back stretch, so maybe (just maybe!) he was going to pit, but I
really thought it was bizarre...

Does this happen to anybody else or are these other drivers single me
out?

They're not bugs! They're random features!

Sorry, but to try to get away from all the damn spammers, I had
to change my email information, like everyone else.

Exact same thing happened to me at Dar.  I was racing w/2 to go,
leading the race when I spot a lapped car on the track. He's pulling
out, getting back on the track.  I figure he'll hold his line and I'll
get by on the outside.  Well the bastard side swipes me spinning me
around in to the wall (damage on)  I limp back to finish in 15th.
Coincidence???  I think not.

This has been a "flaw" with all of Papy's sims.  For some unknown reason
the AI cars going totally "clueless" when getting ready to enter the
pits or exiting the pits.  Just before entering the AI cars make a hard
right (usually up to the outside wall) and the make a hard left into the
pits.  However, they have improved their entrance (at most tracks) back
into the racing groove.

I remember having to "lay back" in the Indianapolis sim for a similar
reason whenever the pit windows opened.

I really would like to see this problem addressed by Papyrus.  Dover is
another bad one for this AI behavior.

You know this kinda ***happens with the AI on almost every track.

I was at Dega once and we where under caution with 5 to go I was in second
(racing with everything on at 106%) cruising down the back stretch I notice
a lapper passing us at top speed. I think nothing of it til another comes
up and smacks my in the rear and my race was over. I have the replay too.
I'm in a prefect line with all the cars and the Ai doing 185mph basically
was gunning for me! This is really pissing me off so I don't run with
Damage anymore! I certainly hope they fix this. Besides that the game is
great!

Yes it happens. I don't know if it is a random feature of the sim or what.
I have been hit on the yellow laps, on the pace lap, in the pits, and about
anywhere else it is possible. I have had cars slide up and hit me, come
down into me, almost anything that can happen in a real race. These
"incidents" are part of what makes the sim more realistic. These things
happen all the time in actual NASCAR races.

John this has happened to me, could be a bug, but it seems if the AI
cars pit they could give a hoot if your there are not. So its not
just your problem if that makes you feel any better.(g)

I actually think it happened to me at Rockingham though....hmmmmm

I would like to see a copy of the wreck you had.  I have had a similar
experience with lapped traffic and Taladega also, and would like to see
