F1 will support Rendition Chip

I saw this on www.gamespot.com:

If you thought the graphics in NASCAR 2 were convincing
enough
to merit comparison to an actual televised race, then take a
look at
Psygnosis' upcoming title Formula 1; you'll swear you were
viewing
Days of Thunder. The filmic quality of the Bizarre
Creations-developed game is mostly due to fluid scrolling
backgrounds. Psygnosis acquired the F1 license through Fuji
Television, which provided the company with hours of actual
footage
from classic locations such as Silverstone, Adelaide, and
Monaco.
Hence, landmark objects like buildings and underpasses have
been
faithfully transported to the track environment. And the game
is
quick. Part of a new generation of games requiring 3-D
accelerator
cards, Formula 1 will provide support for 3Dfx, Rendition,
and
Power VR chipsets, among others. While this hardware
requirement
may bother some racing game fans who don't already own cards
,
the skyrocket-fast frame-rates should really pay off for the
racing
enthusiast who appreciates a real sense of "being there." The
game is
         due out late May/early June.

Tom,

Ive seen some of the screenshots of Psygnosis F1 PC version
and they are the best yet and if it supports Rendition we
shouldnt have to worry about framerate problems on some of the faster
machines like the letdown GP2 gave us. I have a question that noone
seems to be able to answer yet. Do you happen to know if the
PC version of F1 will have a "true"***pit view?

I certainly hope so because if it doesnt alot of guys are gona write
it off as an arcade game instead of a true sim. I mean who wants
to drive the car from a camera mounted on the nose?!

I'm afraid to say that the PC version doesn't have a 'true'***pit view.
This is largely
due to the fact that we tried to make the conversion as true to the
Playstation version as possible and also because the displaying a 2d
***pit presents problems with some graphics acceleration achitectures.

It is still and arcade game in essence but with settings (as in the PSX
version) that bring it closer to the 'sim' level. It's not a 'true sim' and
doesn't try to be.

Hope that this clears up any queries about the conversion.

No, Psygnosis" F1 does not have a***pit view in the true sense.  That is,
you do not see any instrumentation, steering wheel, etc, as per GP2 or
ICR2.
What you see is a view from about eye-level that shows the nose of the car.
Not strictly kosher for a "simulation".

Thanks for the reply Mark! It was killing me to know!(g)
I noticed that even in the PS version that the "nose shot is still not
"eye" level
and seems to be slightly a "birds" eye view. Will this at least change a
little?
If this "view" is lowered a little more to the ground it will be much
more "realistic" and pleasing
to drive. I mean if it put you more on Ground level than above the car.

Having played Psygnosis F1 on the Sony Playstation, and loved it, I'm
tempted to buy a Voodoo card to play the PC port. Now, the Voodoo Rush
cards seem likely to appear about the same time as F1. I've read that
Voodoo applications need to be recompiled to work with Voodoo Rush. Is
=461 going to support Voodoo Rush out of the box, or should I get a
Voodoo card instead?

Sorry this isn't related :)
It's just an opportunity to good to miss. Dewi, I also live in
Guildford and have been looking for a Modem player for either N2 or
ICR2, GP2. If you have any of these and would be interested in a race,
please mail me!

Thanks in advance,
