The new date is 11/18/98.
I wish they would make up there minds.
I wish they would make up there minds.
I called Sierra Sports store at 800-757-7707 and was told they just got a
new release date for
nascar racing 1999 and it has been delayed to 12/13/98
Personally, since I was one at the store on October 16th actually believing
the AP Story published on Nascar Online that in october Sierra was ready to
ship it in eraly October, I have since asked for Nascar 1999 for my
birthday, which is January 14th...and am expecting a late Birthday
present...just hopeing its before valentines day.

2) Sierra didn't rename ICR2 as an attempt to market it as a
different sim. They did so because of licensing issues
when CART and IRL split off. Sierra lost the legal
ability to use "Indy Car" in the title of the sim, and
were forced to change it to "CART Racing" (or whatever
it's called).
It's pretty amusing that some people are so dense and misinformed that
they see conspiracies behind every rock. SFA...

Now, TEN will be upgrading their servers to support N2 1999. This is
not a significant update, but an importantant one. Why you ask?
Because of 1) The new tracks (Atlanta, etc) 2) Double file restarts.
Now from my thinking...if you don't have N2 1999 and you race on TEN
then you are pretty much screwed.
Maybe there is something I don't know about, but that makes sense to
me.
And, they didn't pull this "s**t" before. IRL split with Indy and
thus they had to get a new license in addition to making updates in
the game.
If you don't want to buy it...that's fine. But the way I look at it,
I am sure going to buy it because I want them to continue making good
quality simulations for us to drive. If we don't buy, they don't
make...it's that simple....

TEN has no immediate plans to upgrade the NROS to Nascar Racing - 1999
Edition.
They do think that in the future they might bring NR1999 tracks into the
NROS or upgrade their system to NR1999, but it won't be at least before
season 2 of the NROS, after February of 1999.
Understand that this mean heavy beta testing period and also a whole new set
of enablers to support all the options of NR99, -and- also depending if they
want Nascar racing 2 users to be able to race still on the NROS, they need
almost a whole new GUI made especially for it. It's much more complicated
than what people think ;)
