It flies on my P233MMX, 40mb ram & R3d but then it should. :) I agree
the trackside graphics are poor but i think it is fun to play.
Things that I don't like much,
1. Some of the stages are circuits where you do more than one lap.
2. No in-car view.
3. It seems to have been designed with consoles in mind, you have to use
the keyboard arrows to select options not the mouse.
4. I have only played three stages, but you seem to be able to repair
the car after every stage.
I haven't really tried the track editor yet but my first impression was
disappointment. You can't actually design a track exactly. The best way
I can describe it is that you get a series of categories (bends, hills,
camber & road surface) and you move a slider to set the probability of
inclusion. E.G on the bends you get a choice of straight, easy bends,
medium bends, sharp bends or hairpin bends and depending on the where
you position the slider determines what bends you get. You can't
actually draw a bend where or how you want it.
You can however make the stages as long as you like by adding or
deleting sections 1 mile/kilometer at a time. These stages can then be
added together to form a championship.
Also when using the editor it gives you a code consisting of several
letters and apparently if you enter this code in any copy of the game it
will reproduce the exact same track
That is about all I can think of for now, just to sum up it does not
strike me as a simulation more of an arcade racer along the lines of
Moto Racer. As musch as I would like to see a full blown rally
simulation I still find this game to be good fun and for more serious
racing there is still Nascar 2 or GP2.
If anyone wants any more specific information just let me know and I
will see what I can do.
