GPL adjusting race length...

Is there anyway to adjust the race lengths in GPL?  I would like to run
on the realistic damage model but not for 60+ laps.  Anyway to race
realistick damage with the 7 or so laps of novice?

I think it was Michael Carver who just answered that question in another
thread.  If I remember correctly, edit the race lengths of track.ini
files.  You get "Realistic" damage for Pro length races (which are 30%
of a full Grand Prix event).  So if you want a seven lap race with full
damage at Monaco (for example), edit the race length in Monaco's ini
file to be 23 laps (7 divided by 0.3, rounded).

Here is a previous post answering your question:

This is quite easy and even work for online-racing. :-)

Just open the "67season.ini" file in your "../gpl/seasons" folder and
edit the number of laps for each track. The various realims/damage
levles use different precentages of the total number of laps or the GP
distance.

If i remember right they are:
8% of GP distance for "novice races"
15% of GP distance for "int./pro *short*" races.
30% of GP distance for "int./pro *long*" races.

Like I said these race-lengths can be used in multiplayer races
aswell...
and the good thing is that *ONLY* the host need a modified
"67season.ini"
file.

In the IGPLC we've been using mod. race-lengths since November and that
has worked great! Check out http://home.c2i.net/thepaddock/IGPLC if you
need more examples of what i mean.. :)
