F1 Cars In Next LFS Demo??

by Mike Beaucham » Fri, 21 Feb 2003 11:34:03

I remember reading on the LFS forum that it is supposed to be an F3000 car
actually.

This brings up one of my rants:
The focus of this game seems to be lost (or at least, not going the way I
thought it would). I thought the game was going to concentrate on smaller
street type cars, now there's an F3000 or an F1 car in it? I also hate the
way those tyres look, they look like balloons or something.

I guess I'm just doing what a lot of people do when it comes to LFS,
complain when things aren't the way I hoped they'd be. Such a strange
situation with LFS, since everyone's in on it's development, people
criticise almost everything (me included). If the game just came out of
nowhere, I don't think everyone would be complaining as much, and I'm sure I
wouldn't have mentioned how much I hate how the tyres look.

Oh, and while I'm at it, the rims look bad too. It's like they're made out
of plastic. I think it may be the reflections and glares, the same
reflection is used on the tyres and rims as the body I think. In F12002,
rims look polished metal, and tyres look ***.

Sorry for the rant :)

The LFS team stated all along there were going to be street cars and a few
other cars, like the F3000 car and a kart if I remember right.

Yah, you're totally right. It was just a rant, I wasn't trying to say
anything of significance :)

There won't be any open wheelers for the 0.2 demo.  Nor will there be a
new track.  They will be done for the release version.  I do know that
there will be a much better physics engine as well as new network code.
