I found an interesting insidence:

I have an ASUS TP4N Motherboard, P133, 48 MB
and 1 WD 1,6 GB Harddisk, and 1 WD 850 MB Harddisk (there is gp2)

with my ATI 2MB VRAM I get 257 Proz and 223 Graphic

A friend of mine has the same motherboard, same megs also the WD 1,6 GB
harddisk but an P166

with the same Graphic card mine) ATI 2MB VRAM

he gets 315 (or so) and 165 (!!!)

we tried it with the same graphics setup, installation level and so on.

Can anyone explain this to me ???
Has anyone similiar rates ???

I believe it has to do with the bus speed.

I recently upgraded my 486 to a Pentium 90.

I immediately tried to overclock it. I found that it works at both 100
and 120, but the 100 gives a higher video speed in GP2 because the
video speed is related to the bus speed which is related to the CPU
clock speed.

If you check your motherboard manual it will explain how 133 and 166
speeds are achieved and what the bus speed is for each one.

My brother and I have also found strange results with the vidspeed in
the gp2log.txt file.

I use a P100, 8MB ram and a trident graphics card, Ian  uses a P90,
16MB ram and a cirrus logic graphics card.

I get a lowly score of 105 while Ian gets a score of 184.  However
when we both use exactly the same graphics options (including jam
files and***pit files etc)  I consistently get a lower processor
occupancy than him.  Have I misinterpreted the meaning of vidspeed or
is it simply not an accurate gauge of performance?

Your answer is in your question - that extra 8mb is going to
make a huge difference to video speed.  I'm not sure about the
vid cards tho' - I have a Trident 9440aGi PCI (1mb) card for a while
and it was useless.  Since I got an S3D Virge Chipset card for
only a few dollars more than the Trident, GP2 runs great.  This is
nothing to do with the 3D bit of the card, but the Trio64 engine
in the card is a good budget decision for GP2.

You should find the processor speeds in gp2log.txt accurately
describe the CPU speed differences, but RAM may influence this
as well.  AFAIK over 16mb makes no difference.

Video speed with P120 clocked to 133, 16mb RAM and S3D video (2mb EDO)
is 467 running s3spdup.  This is good for SVGA with reasonable frame
rates and detail.

I have a P166, Dynamite 128/Video and I get 500 exactly on the first setting.
Can't remember the second one.
