So what if the Champweb Studios guys turn F12001 into a CART sim? That
doesn't change the fact that EA and Ubi Soft didn't develop the online code
fully due to licensing restrictions.
The FACT is that Ubi Soft was NOT ALLOWED by the FIA to give us online
TCP/IP racing in F1RC. They basically snuck what we did get into the game.
Since they weren't allowed to develop the online capabilities, why would
they then devote precious development time towards it? That doesn't mean
they can't, or didn't want to. If you don't believe me, then ask Schumi
(F1RC Relay) if Ubi Soft was or was not handcuffed by the FIA.
As for their abilities, they already proved four years ago that they can
provide excellent online play with POD. They were very enthusiastic about
online racing, and even sponsored a $10,000 tournament which I happened to
compete in.
