Where HAS this programmer been?

I just installed NetKar for the first time to see what all the Hoopala as
about.  Now I understand!

One thing immediatlely become apparant to me.  There is ZERO canning in this
simulations physics.  The Physics are there every degree of a 360 deg spin,
and every little input you make count, for better or worse.

I know it isn't the favorite car here (The Modena seems to have that cinched
up), but the Ferrari 250 is an absolutel BLAST to drive, mainly because the
physics are so 'there' for you and nothing is canned.

I just did some laps, and I think I went through half the corners completely
sideways and controllable due to the excellent physics.  Most other 'sims' I
won't mention (GP3 - cough cough) will 'take over' if you break across a
certain level of spin, and finish it off for you.  Not this Sim.  It is
completely up to you to make it or not.

Now, going through the corners sideways isn't very fast, but it sure is fun
:)

infancy.

Agree 100%. Hats of to Mr Castillo!

I prefer the Supra, mostly because it has the best sound and "feel". Enough
grunt to scare you, but still quite controllable. Oh and setups!
I must admit this is the first sim I haven't been upset by poor low-speed
grip. I have experienced some weirdness, all forgiven though. Most
noticeable is Donington Park in the Supra. On the long circuit I have no
problem going flat all the way downhill to the Old Hairpin, but on the short
version the car goes weird in the left kink. Starts bobbing left-right and
turns into a skateboard or something. And the amount of sideways "uh-oh"
moments has been grand at Brands. Going in too hot, and the deilghtful
feeling when the rear comes round instead of the oh-so-depressing push
straight ahead no matter what you do...rave, rave.

I'm a fan now after only a couple of hours. Can't wait to see the
development of this gem!

Best feeling since GPL demo in 98 imo :)

Well-said, Matt -- I agree 100%!!  NetKar is an absolute gem, and it's
good to see that people are starting to discover it.  The online
multiplayer portion is still in its infancy, but it works -- the
physics have already arrived, and I would say that netKar ranks right
up there with GPL/NR2003/F12002/F1C98-02, physics-wise.

If you haven't tried it already, you're REALLY missing out!
