The AI's are psycho.  Every single time I get a nose under them they cut me
off big time.  Usually causing a wreck.  It is kind of frustrating if you
know what I mean.  I could understand if only Jimmy Spencer did it, but
they all do it.  It is great to have them drive aggressively but for some
reason they can't tell when you pull underneath them going into a corner.

I have found that if I can get into the turn with at least my bumper at
their door, they will give me room. If I am under their rear quarter-panel
they will sometimes come down on me. If I just barely get my nose under
them, they will almost allways cut me off. I am ready to brake and let them
come down unless I am at least halfway by them in the turn. Patience is the
key here. Pick your spot to pass. If you stay on them, they will usually
make a mistake and slide up giving you a chance to pass.

You can edit their aggressiveness in the sim.

I guess the same thing might happen in a real race. After a couple of
such incidents you would learn not to put your nose under another driver
;-)

Cheers,
Richard (who has learned the lesson, but just isn't patient enough to
apply it!)

The AI is sometimes good and sometimes bad. Its bad when they stupidly
run into you. I was racing at Bristol and Bodine decides to pit and take
me with him. The idiot stuffed me into the wall. I'm not moanin but
somebody needs to fix this. Oh no now Nascar is going to fine me $10000
:)

Change your driving style to compensate for this weakness in the AI.  If
you get your nose under them early enough they will give you room to
race into the corner (at most tracks).  If you say Sunday's Bristol race
you will have seen many times when a driver got their nose under a car
going into the corner, but backed off.  They were not there early
enough.  You will have to learn the same thing.  Putting your nose under
a car too late entering a corner will cause a wreck in the sim and in
the real world.

Actually in the real world the "gentlemen's agreement" is that one is
supposed to have the nose past the middle pillar of the outside car
before entering the corner.  If not the "nosee" is to back off and try
next time around.  Otherwise the corner and the groove belong to the
"nosed".  Of course this rule does not apply to Dale Earnhardt or Jeff
Gordon, because it is a "gentlemen's agreement". ;-)

There aren't any gentleman on a race track!  You didn't hear Rusty
complain last week when Jeff bumped him and got him loose on the last
lap to win the race.  Why?  Because he and everyone else on the track
would've done the same thing.  Those on the track that wouldn't have
done it are the ones that finish in the back every week.

Just my opinion

If Rusty would've ended up stuffed in the wall underneath 5 other cars
you'd have heard some complaining.
I'll admit that I'm not the greatest N2 player, but I find the problem
the original poster talked about more often results the mass
destruction of 10 cars than not.
That doesn't happen near as frequently in reality.
