3DFX Splash screen....

How do I disable the 3dfx splash screen? I've just bolted in a Voodoo3 2000
and GPL and N3 have never looked better on my sorry -ass system, so I'm
happy, except for the new screen I get to look at for awhile every time I
start either of my favorite games......I Mean Sims!!!??!! Please don't
shoot! I've looked thru the display properties for a checkbox or somesuch,
did not find any, and this is probably a rtfm question, but I'm asking
anyway, how do I ditch the 3dfx ad?

Using the 'mallet to crack a walnut' approach, Tweakall has it in one of
it's options. A great program, incidentally, and free...

Add this line to your autoexec.bat file;

SET FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=1

While the other answers do work, it is much easier if you just go into your
display properties, goto Settings, Advance Options, 3dfx Tweaks, select
glide and then check the box that says "Disable the Splash Screen"

That box is there so you do not have to edit your autoexec.bat or use other
utilities

in display properties click 'advanced' on the 'settings' tab.  This should
give you another dialog with a bunch of tabs.  On one of those tabs (3dfx
tweaks)  there is a box to check/uncheck for ridding yourself of the splash
screen
