Nascar 2 - Low Sound volumes

by Hem » Sat, 28 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I have a SB AWE 32 card and while in the Nascar 2 game, the sounds are
rather low and hard to hear.  I have maxed out all of the volume settings
in the sound setup, but have to turn the volume of my speakers up
considerably to get the sound at a level comparable to Nascar 1.  Is there
something I have missed or is there a way to get the game itself to play
the sounds at a higher level?  Thanks.

Check the Spotter/Crew Chief voice level. Once it goes above 50%, it
lowers the other sounds. In other words, 50% is max sound level for the
spotter. Then, just take it from there.

Here's what worked for me.

Boot the machine and break the startup sequence with the F8 key.
Select safe mode command line.
Load youre mouse driver.
Launch nascar2.exe.   Thats It!
Not only will the volume be correct, but you may get a few more FPS if you
configured UNIVIBE.

I've found that I have the same problem.  Try this:  turn down the speech
volume level to about 70%.  I found that by doing this, the speech isn't
lower in volume, but everything else is higher in volume.
