Does anyone have any experience, comments or suggestions about using the Microsoft
Sidewinder Pro joystick with ICR (original version). Can the buttons on the base of
the unit be used for shifting gears?

As far as I know, the buttons at the base of the stick are only
accessible via the Win95 driver which means you can't get at them in
DOS games.

Actually, Mechwarrior 2 for DOS supports all of the buttons on the
SideWinder Pro. Looks like you just need to have support for it
programmed into the game.
