Q:    Where could obtain further information concerning
on-ground vehicle simulators? (for moons and planets in
the vicinity)

Planning some Travels, Gulliver? (Sorry, couldn't resist - hopefully you'll
get that pun...)

I'd suggest searching the NASA site (www.nasa.gov) itself, and maybe some
high profile NASA suppliers such as http://www.lockheedmartin.com/.

Then try high tech universities like http://mit.edu/ and
http://www.stanford.edu/

If somebody's working on something like this, these guys will be involved in
some way...

Well, since "Earth" is a planet in the vicinity of the moon, do you really
want a simulator of the Crawler bringing the shuttle towards the launchpad?
Now that is the ultimate simulation borefest ;-)

(I really can't help you, I just wanted to say that lol sorry)

NASA's Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California has an
incredible simulator! They use it to train astronauts. It's got a huge
enough vertical drop to simulate zero-g for a bit.
