GP2 - new utility

by Karim Khal » Tue, 29 Jul 1997 04:00:00

I have just written and tested a new utility for F1GP2. It is a small
DOS program that allows one to change _all_ computer drivers' grip
levels by a percentage.
Simply put, the grip level defines how fast a computer controlled car
will go into the corners. I made it for people like myself, who like
to win but with just the right amount of challenge:) I like to drive
leisurely, 'Amateur' level is too easy, I beat them all in corners and
straights by ~2 secs/lap. 'Semi-Pro' is too hard, _they_ beat me by
about 2 secs/lap, and I seldom want to push to be on par on that
level. I finally found the right amount of challenge by using
'Semi-Pro', and reducing the grip levels as in PK Arnall's most recent
carset by 4%. No reboot into Win95, no calculators to keep the field
even, etc.
I don't have a web page, if any GP2 page webmaster is interested in
posting it please wave a hand.

Karim

PS: it only works with the version I have, i.e. US 1.0b. If someone
wants to see another version supported please e-mail me your gp2.exe.
