I've been snooping around in the GTR files and there are +dedicated and
+connect command line arguments for the GTRDemo.exe. When you start it with
the GTRDemo +dedicated argument you get the dedicated server config dialog.
Unfortunatly it crashes right when you're about to start the server.

With F1C, hosting a server was a PITA, and this would be a welcomed
addition. And this proves, if they are using the F1C engine, that they have
made changes to the existing netcode. So we might (hopefuly) see something
decent for multiplayer.

If any of you figure out how to start the server without it crashing, be
sure to let us know. :)

I would guess the server module was not included in the demo. I'd be
interested if anyone got Spa to start at night. The headlights work now
day or night, but so far, my editing the gdb files have not produced a dark
track.
The design specs called for dedicated server with a 30 car field. I
would assume that is an offshoot of the NT 2k4 multiplayer.

What happens if you just start the game and wait? Does it get dark?

nope that won't work either..... it simply hasn't been implemented in
the demo..
