There's a rather unflattering review of GPL on AGN (http://www.racesimcentral.net/)
The author seems to have some serious gripes out Graphics Quality, Framerate
and control. I can only hope he's working off an early beta or something,
I've been looking forward to this one for awhile, and will be very
disapointed if what he says holds true. . (and yes, I'll probably buy it
spite of what is written)

Try the demo and judge for yourself. The demo is a very very pre-alpha copy
so you can expect compatibility, drivability, and graphics to be better than
what you see in the demo.

What he neglected to say was he was trying to run it on a 286 with 8 megs of
RAM, using a Gravis Gamepad to practice because he is going to apply for his
learner's permit next year so he can drive his mommy to the store.

P.S. The guy didn't even know how to spell BRAKE! Oh yeah, I am going to look
for him for advice on racing simulations, just the fact that he slammed the
greatest driving simulation of all time shows you how ignorant this guy is. Wait
for a professional review, this guy will be laughed out of the room!

I wouldn't mind him giving a bad review, if it was well thought out. There
are probably some here who will find enough fault with GPL to rate it under
something they play now, and they are more than entitled to that opinion.
But this kind of crap, from some arcader, with a weak system and crappy
controls, and with blatant inaccuracies is ridiculous.

Actually I tried the demo and liked it. Only problems I had were with
garbled sound, which from this newsgroup seems to be a common problem. I
guess that's why they call it beta. In any case I really hope Papy gets it
right on this one, the potential is there for a near perfect driving sim!
