I have this problem whether in Dos or windows...anyone else had this
problem....no matter what I am running it seems that N99 hangs my
machine after 5 minutes of game play...I have 80megs RAM so that
shouldn't be the problem,,,I run the 3dfx version on a Raven Banshee
card with 16 megs...I have a Pent200 and I reduce my running apps to
almost nothing and it still hangs....any suggestions...?? Oh the card
I have is a PCI bus and I even set my PCI latency to 128....help...

I run the same config, but my Banshee is a Monster Fusion and it runs great.
Maybe you should get the 3dfx reference drivers and possibly reinstall the
game. It could be something with the video drivers, I would guess, something
along those lines.

Could be a thermal problem.  Have you tried running with the case open, or
checked the temp of your processor or banshee card?

Try making sure the power management or screensaver isnt turning on. I have
seen this cause problems too.

Do you have your 3dfx overclocked (if that's possible with that card)?

That's a classic symptom of an over-heated 3dfx board...

Screen savers? Power management?

>Screen savers? Power management?

I'm sure you're just joking, but for those that DON'T know, there is one
part of power management that everyone overlooks (myself included all too
often): in Control Panel there's an icon for "Power".  Check for when
Win95/98 puts your drive to sleep.  This can happen EVEN IF YOU'VE DISABLED
POWER MANAGEMENT in BIOS (probably doesn't apply in _this_ case, though).
