Well, that was mu first post on this NG, but I have been visiting off and on
for some time...and I gotta say from some of the personal replys that their
are some classy guys that visit this place, as I got tons of sorrow about my
lack of a system <G>
Well, I am in process of having me a new racing system built, so dont
fret.....within a month I fully expect to be enjoying 30+ fps with 10+ AI
cars, and I CANT WAIT <VBG>
Unfortunantly, I am WAY TOO SLOW, and I didnt learn my lesson with my first
CPU purchase (a PB 486 DX2 50 mhz....yuck) and last year I went a purchased
another PB 166mmx.....trusting my local Circuit City...."Sure its
upgradable, Packard Bell has really stepped it up with quality and
conformability." LOL Yeah right.....so I am stuck with a proprietay board
with an attitude.....LOL.....but I did learn my lesson, and soon will have a
custom computer, built soley for my needs.....
So, now I do need a little advise.....I am planning to have a AMD K6-2 350
with all the toys ( Hercules Thriller 8 meg agp, 2 Diamond Monster2 3d's,
128 meg SGRam (I think) and some other toys along woth it.....the advise is
concerning both soundcard/gameport and the AMD chip......I havent ever heard
a bad thing about AMD, and I realize the 3d now prob wont help me, but does
anyone hear own it??? I am really stoked about it, and I have gicen much
thought to overclocking a celeron.....but I am from Texas, and we are kinda
proud people.....whenever I look for a purchase, I start looking at
homegrown products, and the K6 is built right here in my hometown.....so I
like supporting my own if ya know what I mean......so please, if anyone has
it, let me know what you think.
