After 4 years of lurking and being able to take care of my self, I need
help.
I have just fdisked and reinstalled win 98se, now when I try to install
wingman 4.11 drivers it fails 3/4s through giving me the message,
"error executed the specified program"
"msieexec.exe" /i "wingman software.msi"

next  warning;  Unable to execute the specified command...ok

I tried installing ME, and the wingman s/w installs and wheel works,  but
ran into more probs than it was worth. 98 does this over and over.

any ideas?

thanks sb

Did you install the MS Installer file first? You need to do that or
Wingman software won't install properly.  Search for 'instmsi.exe' or
email me and I can send it to you. Its about 1.4mb in lenght. I believe
Logitech has a link on there site to it.

You need to upgrade the Windows Installer before adding the WingMan
software.

Why lurk BTW? -It's much more fun to post! ;-)

I think you also have to be running dx8 to run the 4.11 drivers.

Hi Scott,

So you've read posts about other people's probs for 4 years without offering
help one single time although apparently you must be quite knowledgeable,
and now you expect others to help you? Tsk tsk ;-)

Or he could have been in the same boat I was :)  Until 1999, there wasn't
even a local ISP offered in the boondocks of Idaho where I live(heck, POWER
wasn't even here until the early 70's, lol).
I lurked here for years.......but it was very quickly/selective due to it
was costing me per minute at the time.  Also, once a local ISP finally did
show up, it didn't offer a news reader/server/access until this year!?!
I had to just read through deja and then google search engines, etc.

  Who knows.

Hi John,

yep, I know, and I didn't want to be mean or anything. I just couldn't
refrain from making this little joke :-)

Yes,
and DX8 must be installed and active  *before* the wingman software.
Took me 2 days to sort this out.
