Cheap would be a good price.  ;)  It's worth a
spin.

I think there's a V.2 which I've got (it's at home). Personally I thought it
blew TOCA2 to bits.

114317.news.dfncis.de:

Good graphics (as any Digital Illusions game), unrealistic physics but
challenging in its own way, and you can get some interesting moments of
TOCA-like close racing. You'll need the official patch (if not applied on
the current on-sale version) to get the AI drivers up way over 100% though,
since they are ridiculously slow out of the box...

Yup, one of my favourite "not quite so serious" sims. One thing though, if
you use an FF wheel you must turn the "spring effect" and "damping effect"
forces on, otherwise the FF will feel very strange.

Is that the same "Digital Illusions" that wrote those Amiga
Pinball sims?

Just wondering,

Yup. Also of recent Battlefield 1942 fame.

There's not many left of the old "Pinball Dreams" crew, though, IIRC.

wow, they have come a long way, it seems. Pinball Dreams and
Pinball Fantasies were awfully good games (and my
then-girlfriend and now wife regularly kicked my ***in those
hiscore tables). Ahh the memories...
