Hello Matt! :)

Its been a while since GPL...
...STCC has alot of potential. Though no Demo yet.
Thee car physics seams to be "dumbed" down, (as usual nowerdays),
in the final release. I belive we could see some seriuse patches,
that can make this THE sim engine (appart from GPL ofcourse ;)

Even with its flaws, its still extreamly fun when hotlapping. Ive been to
the tracks
in real life, and they are very accurate. The Control input
isnt working as good at it should or could, and it seams to be some
sort of steering aid, braking help, and "opposite lock help" ala GP2.
Unfortunatly (if they are there) they cant, in this version, be turned of.
The FOV can be changed to ones liking (Good option!)

The car is going to quick, the loss of tracktion only becomes apparent
when you get "wildly" quick. And the lap  times are way faster than they
should be. The AI on 100% is not fast. I won every race starting last.

When i used DXTweak for my LWFF, I made the car accelerate slower,
and brake less. The result was som very close racing during the straights.
I belive the AI guys drive the way I would drive with all the helps off.

All this sounds a little dissepointing, (the sound in the game btw are
great)
but this is still the best efort by far,for at touringcar sim/game.
Better that SCGT and Toca2. I bought it and I dont regret it one bit.
But i NEED a patch for the Physics - im 10 sec faster than the AI at 100%.
Still the Hotlapping is the most fun I ever had since GPL. I can only
imagine how
good it would be without "the helps" It feels extreamly "real"

Good Job DICE, and make sure you send me that patch ;)

Well, this does sound like one I have to get...I can actually practice the
tracks I'll be driving on next year :-)

I'll go look for it across the border!

Defentetly Matt!

Ive been hotlapping like crazy, and i cant belive how good and "real"
it feels, even now as it is. This is killing my social life all over again!
(I just recovered fom "The GPL Syndrome";)

An belive me you,  you WILL be fast at the tracks next year then!
They are very accurate as far as i can see. Especially if we can get
a patch to race properlly with the FOV "tighter". It works best,
controlwise, at 100% as it is now...

I always go to the STCC races. Will you race in those weekends?
It would be awsome to see you race fast in a "real" car for a change ;)

Agh! The Pain! Now I must get it ASAP! :-)

Ok, our mission to give the proper feedback, then...

Yeah, think so - it's a new class called the Scandinavian Sports RacingCar
Series...yummy!

We're working like crazy to complete the car now (www.cheekracing.com), so
we'll see. Hope to meet you at the track :-)!
Anyways, unless some dope with loadsa $ shows up, I'll race it!

I've driven the short Mantorp circuit many many laps IRL in some
different cars. I've also been round Knutstorp Ring some laps.

So, I was spending time tweaking the "zoom" in the STCC game to make it
as close as possible to real life. And I settled for 85. So if you've
never driven any of the tracks but want to get the "real" feeling of
them try this setting out. Other settings make the game tracks feel
shorter or longer then the real thing IMO.

Sounds nice. I've raced Mantorp, Anderstorp, Karlskoga, Kinnekulle and also
driven round Knutstorp and Falkenberg a bunch of laps, really looking fwd to
finding the game!

I like it too, but I'm having troubles running a race, in hotlapping
everything is smooth, but with AI-cars in a race (7 or 15) the FPS is
waaay down,
I have a P II 450, 256Mb Ram and TNT and V2, makes no difference what
card I use :(
Well, the tracks are nice anyway, I really love the "Mo I Rana" track in
Norway, after racing it I understand why it's nicknamed the
"Scandinavian Nurburgring" :)

Want to add that the sound of the cars is great, only GPL is better
IMHO.

The tracks are very realistic but the cars are not :-( Fun to drive,
yes! But not true to life.

They act like they have antispin and some kind of antiskid (it's too
easy to catch some skids). The cars do not "get light" going over a top
of a hill (like at Knutstorp for example) and so on. Ok ok, I've never
driven a real STCC car so what do I know, hehe. Lots of fun anyway!

BTW. I found that in some places the best racing line is no where near
the line I'm used to. Does anybody have comments on this? Can it be
that the game modelling is correct and I'm simply in a totally
different beast of a car that runs another line better? Or is it the
game modelling being off?
