TOCA Bilinear Filtering..?

OK, I'm not really up with computer terms etc, but I love to play TOCA.
What is this bilinear filtering I keep reading about?? What effect does
it have - speed the game up, alter appearence? Can someone post a
straight forward answer. Thanks

Right and wrong. It doesnt smooth the rough edges on the cars, that is edge
anti-aliasing.
