just me or is there a problem with the site? Any news on when it might be
fixed?

Well, I can't get to it either. Unfortunately, this is going to be a
long outage, because I am 5900 miles from the server... Unless
something magical happens (I cannot tell what the problem is from
here), we'll be down until at least Friday afternoon Pacific time.
I would guess that it's a PacBell problem, because I cannot get to any
of my servers (there are three, but only one is GPLrank) so the link
is probably the problem, not the server itself.

Oh well. Typical. I improve my GPL rank for the first time in months
and I can't update it :-)
BTW, thanks Maxx, I've been silently reading your comments and they
are the main reason for my (admittedly small) improvement. I've
shaved a bit off my Mosport time, and also as near as dammit matched
my Lotus time at Zandvoort with the Ferrari.

Downloadable replays? Now how does that work, I wonder? Don't
forget RTrank has only been up for a couple of weeks, and I
don't earn a living from it, so it's basically just an
evening's worth of hacks. This might and probably will improve
in the future.
Yeah, sorry about another major outage in what, two months?
Let's hope Brian gets home safe and sound, and maybe the
problem will take care of its own if it really is a pacbell
problem. They have bitten us before. 8-(
Cheers,
Uwe

Sorry Uwe. I should have stressed the "no disrespect" part. I truly mean
that. I applaud your efforts and your dedication to sim racing.
I don't have the game yet so I can't be sure how they do it. Although I
ordered the game as soon as I saw that site. I was sitting on the fence
waiting for reviews and feedback in here to determine if I would buy it. As
soon as I saw what those guys did I was sold. Apparently from reading the
guides and such you download their software and launch the game through
that. Then somehow it monitors for cheating and captures your replays and
stage times. After that you can upload the files to the site through that
software and your replay is posted with your stage records and you are
placed in the rankings. Very hands free and super slick. Your stage times
are viewable in graphs and comparisons with filters and such. I am still
finding hidden features after 4 days of fiddling around.
I tried to download some replays of russia stage 1 hoping that I might be
able to run it in the demo. They have a system that you select the replays
you want and it makes a single download file that extracts to their replay
manager. Took me a while to figure out where they went as they don't tell
you and stumbled upon their replay software by accident. I opened that up
and the replays were there waiting for me to insert them into the game. For
some reason though you can only have 1 replay inserted. It keeps overwriting
the one I just inserted. Maybe a bug or something.
Sorry to hear about your outage my friend. I hope you didn't take my
comments as any disrespect. These guys just took the ranking thing to
another level and I can't wait to embarrass myself in their.

James
