I can't help, but to put his experience into perspective....(this oughta
wake JB)
When Juan Pablo Montoya ran Indy, he did so in a car that had lots of
downforce and less power than 10-15 years ago.  Even if you trimmed-out the
IRL cars completely, they would still have much more grip than the old days.
When Arie Luyendyck(sp?) was racing the Buick Stock Block at over 240mph,
he was driving an icicle.  With the current IRL package, if you are close on
the setup, you just cruise around the track.  Granted, it is still not the
easiest thing to do, but the 'skill' required these days is far less than in
the past.

anybody know where one can bet on the Button/Montoya points battle?

Montoya will take it.  Button is good, but I think Montoya's sense of car
control is close to Schumacher's...<g>

The only thing I know of that is close to what you are looking for was
in the Seattle PI:

"My biggest focus has been CART," Montoya told reporters this week. "I
didn't think of Indy when I thought of racing in the United States, I
thought about CART."

"So far, it's been very simple to get around here. You have to find the
apex of turning points and maximize the speeds to get around here."

Exactly!
Finally someone agree with me... hehehe :-)

Since Juan is a pretty good driver as it is and seems to adapt quickly to
cars judging by how quickly he was getting results in CART and especially on
ovals.
If you can get the hang of a track like Narareth and those type of ovals, I
guess Indy is one of the easier to learn as it's just 4 corners. I've heard
that some treat Nazareth as a 6-7 turn track, difficult that is!

Indy ain't no Nurburgring, so all things are relative.  Believe me, I'm
aware that the track's speed and sharp corners are scary, but if you're
not scared, it's not difficult in terms of learning the line.  Juan
Montoya comes across as VERY***y and brave, and I do not believe it's
an act.  That being said, he learned the line and raced the track.

No Montoya said that Indy "is pretty easy"  and "it's 4 corners so its
pretty easy.  It's not like a road course".  It was on espn.com but I
am unable to find it.

Furthermore the first time Montoya ever drove Indy, it took hiim less
than 10 minutes to run a 217.4!  Not to shabby for first time on the
track.
