F1 ED 2.1 unpacks OK, but crashes!? Help?

Please help... I have the F1ed21.Zip file I took from this group,
and it decoded, and unzip'ed just fine... I also unpacked the GP.EXE
as it said.  No problem...  When I run F1ED with my name file is crashes.
It crashes completely without doing anything...It just bombs... it bombs
even without a namefile!...  I also had F1ED 2.0 I think ,and it didn't
work for me at all either...

I have mouse on com1; Full install of World Circuit; mouse driver loaded;
4 megs ram on my 386-SX.   What's wrong?
