Rally Masters is superb!

by Alexander Mar » Tue, 18 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Sorry if this was posted already yesterday, my newsreader doesn't show it
and my time and date on my computer was screwed up.
here we go:

My Opinion after two days with the full version: Superb. This is the
definite Rally Game for PC and one of the best Racing Games ever.

I think I haven't had that much fun with a driving game since the days of
Stunt Car Racer.

The goods:
+ great dynamic In-Car view
+ excellent EAX environmental sounds
+ excellent steering feel
+ breathtaking graphics (celeron500, v3)
+ high framerate
+ good but slightly exaggerated physics
+ different cars with different sounds and behaviour
+ very well done multiplayer races on multi-lane tracks

The bads:
- somewhat strange enginge sounds
- clumsy interface, especially the controller configuration
- haven't got split axis working right now (logitech), but it might be me
(see-> interface :o)

I might post some more observations this week. But if you can get your
controller working right in the demo, I'd say this is a must-buy. The best
game released this year so far.

cheers,

All I can say is....  I Agree 100%

Stunt car racer := the only Amiga game worthy of the effort of dragging your
TV and A500 round your mates house for serial MPlayer :-))

Rally Masters!

Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

Wow, CMR on steroids! Great graphics, awsome 3d sound, real cars including
WRC not just F2 cars, and best of all it's very DRIVEABLE!

Now for those of you without jobs, Families, or just too much time on your
hands, I'm sure RC2000/Mobil One Rally is a terrific, and very realistic sim
(more sim than arcade) but for those of us who only have 15-30 min's every
other night to jump on the PC and have FUN, I'd say Rally Masters hits the
mark!

And this is just from my opions of the Demo, can't wait to see the real
deal!

Ya know, I was really looking forward to RC2K but after playing that
undriveable demo of there's I was totally turned off. Don't take me wrong,
it's a great looking game visually, but the sounds, the unentigible
co-driver, and the frustrating car phyisics/driveablility just turned me
off.

I'm sure if I had the time to spend an hour or two every night mastering
RC2K I'd learn to enjoy it, but this one looks like a real winner, right out
of the box!

Regards,
Jay J

I am willing to give the game a chance, but I thought the demo sucked.
