I have a simple question...

Since there isn't anything "stock" in a stock car, why are they called
"Stock Car's"??

Because "Stock Appearing Car" is too long. The bodys are all fit to a
template that is made from a production car. So, to a point, (they have
changed some for safty) the cars on the track are the same as a "stock"
car off of the showroom floor.

Well, at least during the parade lap. After about 30 laps at Martinsville,
they don't look quite as clean as the showroom models. <g>
