Using Kazaa I shared GTR2002.exe on my 'puter at home about 3 hours ago.
Just installed Kazaa on another PC and searched for the file.  No results
found.  I included a keyword "GTR2002" and other details as well.  That was
a waste of time...

I've got 2 users downloading now (my imposed limit). I've had 10 so far
today.

You need to wait an hour or so for the search index to replicate. It took
about 2 hours for the first user to "find" my copy yesterday - since then
I've had a stream of downloaders.

Please keep sharing and help spread the load!

Tim

p.s. - that goes for flyingv81 and puppet who are downloading now!

The searching leaves a bit to be desired.  I still don't get any results
when doing a search for GTR2002 - even though I've got the file shared
myself!

Same here Damien, I thought if it's such a pain in the ass for people to
find, I'd share it......but after I stuck it in my shared folder, I tried a
search, since others here said they put it up, and I couldn't find it
either. Kazaa This!

If you use the official Kazaa it has spyware.

Use kazaa lite. http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Uninstall your current version of kazaa and look for ad-aware
www.lavasoft.de  to get rid of the spyware ***and then install kazaa
lite.

I'm using Kazaa Lite - maybe that's why the searching is so poor.

Kazaa is ad-aware aware! Ifyou run ad-aware and delete any spyware
components, the next time you start kazaa it will pop up a message telling
you that required components have been removed, and to re-install.

However, the best thing to do is a full un-install of kazaa, then download
kazaa light, which does the same job and has no spyware.

Kazaa Lite does everything the original did minus spyware, plus many
other useful features.  sig2dat, probably the most useful tools.  It
will find the exact file according to a hash.  Here is the hash for
GTR2002.EXE.

File:GTR2002.exe
Length:278356548 Bytes,271833KB
UUHash:=iHIHw55bBb+IHgLRiAO7PcCvShQ=

If you paste this hash into sig2dat, it will make kazaa find the
GTR2002 mod but not only that, it will find the exact match.  So if
someone made a virus .exe that is the same size and name it won't
match, since the hash doesn't.  Also, someone else might a corrupted
.EXE, well, the hash won't match and KL won't download it.  This will
save you many hours of downloading.  It generates a .DAT and places it
in your download folder and every time you load kazaa it will look for
it in your queue.

Speed up is another useful tool.   Every few minutes it automatically
searches for more sources for the files in your queue.  So it will
search while you're away or sleeping and resume download.

One possibility for not finding the file you want is that the majority
of the users who are sharing the mod may not be on the same server
you're connected to.  There are many thousands of fast track servers.
So if there are only a few sharing, it would be like looking for a
needle in a hay stack.  But if everyone shared it, I can't see why it
wouldn't be found.

I don't see those tools, and I'm using KaZaa lite.  What menu should I be
looking at?  I'm using v 1.6
