The newsgroup and its downfall!

by David Hudso » Fri, 04 Jul 1997 04:00:00

I've seen all I wish to see over the last four weeks !
I've tabulated the last 5,000 + messages that have shot back
and forth across this newsgroup that resembled night range manuvers
in the military ! People posting responses to someone's message
about "this sim doesn't have a good frame rate on my computer"
then someone responds "bullshit I have a .... and it runs fine"

The point of this is this :

1) When I first subscribed to this group most of the content was
"I need help" and most of the responses were "try this" now I have to
sort through 15-20 messages to get threads like that !

2) Who gives a flying *** whether you , him , her , the dog, whomever
is self proclaimed moderator ?? I think there are a few WELL RESPECTED
LEADERS so to speak who post and respond to this group with helpful
and useful and most importantly RESPECTFUL replies to a persons call
to help ! (I saw one response recently "read the manual stupid!")
Now thats helping a bunch!!!!

3) It's no wonder that now more useful information can be obtained
from RESPECTED sim racers website than here . It's simply a complete
turnoff to listen to you guys play judge and jury or executioner .

I'm sure some of you will want to start the usual "*** you" responses
and that's fine I wont be reading any because I don't feel like hearing
baby food drool out of newborn mouths . To those of you RESPECTED
sim racers who try to help those of us that need it (me for sure)

THANK YOU !!! I appreciate your efforts ! You have been most helpful
and I appreciate it !
To those of you "I'm better than you , No it dont work even if you say
it does on your computer, my word is more important than yours ,
if some of you think ... mother ***ers I say good riddance and I'll
be smoking your ass at a race track soon !!!

Unfortunately the moronic minority will always raise its head, in every
section of society, even usenet, (or should that be especially
usenet!!!!!)

I agree that there has been a noticeable decline, but that should make us
appreciate even more the helpful, informative, supportive threads, of
which there are still many.
