been racing simulators since 1990 and I think it's great to see the enormous
amount of physics details which has been put into the sim.
I know it's a problem to make quality sims like this when you always have
the never ending problem with hardware not catching up with the
possibilities of programming, but for me I think that I can easely wait for
a year to get equipment good enough for this kind of software.
Keep up with the good work :-)
I also wanted to ask you about some of the problems I have with the system.
I've been sitting here for a couple of hours to try different settings to
see how stable the system is and I think there is a MAJOR problem with
sim/equipment combination when it comes to MODE SWITCHING. By know I know
fairly well how I must configure my system to get GPL to work fairly well,
but it seems that I can provoke at several problems which all are related to
MODE SWITCHING.
For example if I set the desktop to a resolution of 640x480 pixels what
happens is that my mouse ALLWAYS jumps up into the left corner of the screen
and stays there just before I enter the splash screen. This NEVER happens
when I set the desktop to 800x600 pixels??. When I go from the menu to the
***pit the first time EVERTHING works perfect the first time I do this but
if I go back to the menu and reenter to the***pit I ALLWAYS get a
"kernal.... error"??
There are several other thing I can do to get into problems and the funny
thing is that they happen each and every time I do thos spesific things. All
the errors I get are happening when the sim changes from a lower to a higher
resolution. I 've tried maybe 15-20 different drivers and combinations of
display and ogl driver versions and all kinds of DirectX versions but it
allways comes down to MODE SWITCHING PROBLEMS.
Any comments on what's the problem except for to much different hardware to
choose from in this lost computer world :-)
I use a celeron at 504MHz, CL TNT card, OGLbeta2 and a BH6++
