Hi Randy,

I was talking with Paul Jones who has ADSL and uses TZO to generate an IP
for use with VROC.
I also have ADSL with NAT addressing and use TZO to generate an IP address
which I place in
my setup on VROC.  When I join a room everything looks fine but when I join
or host a race everything
starts Ok but in my mulit-player on GPL all I can see is my modem for
hosting or to join a game.
Do I need to set up a server for this to work correctly?  Any help is
appreciated... Thanks - Ron

I had the same problem with my cable modem awhile back.  Try adding
the following to your core.ini file:

[communications]
alternate_ip_addr_lookup=1

I believe case is important in GPL 1.0 (it will not be in GPL 1.1), so
that it should read

[ Communications ]
alternate_ip_addr_lookup = 1

check the readme in the GPL directory.

Hi Randy,

I followed you directions and now I can join a game using the IP generated
by TCO
When I host I see TCP/IP but it shows 10.0.0.2 I thought it should show the
IP by TCO
Attached is a copy of my core.ini
If hosting was working correctly I believe I should see my name in the race
list
Do you have any ideas on hosting fix?

Thanks - Ron

How do you use the TZO ip-address to join a game?

After I've connected to TZO, GPL still sees only my NAT ip.

Good morning,

My ADSL w/NAT addressing is now working to join a game but there is still a
problem with hosting.
When I try to host I get a TCP/IP address of 10.0.0.2 and my IP from TZO is
correct in setup.
If I select 10.0.0.2 I can start the game but no one joins and when I go
back to VROC room it does
not show my game in the list.

Thanks for you help in getting joining a game to work.  Any suggestions for
hosting?
I have a very barebones core.ini file only the alternate ip line.

Thanks - Ron

Just ventilating an idea here (as in : I don't really know :))
Are you connecting to the net through your ISP's proxy server?

Caveat: I don't know the exact usage for TCO ...

However, your host should always show its own IP Address, not the translated
address.  VROC should pickup the correct translated address.
