Destiny Steering Wheel and Pedals

I recently came across a Destiny steering wheel in a local store and was
wondering whether this is an old wheel with a new name, or if it is a new
release. If it is the latter, does anyone have any information as to how it
performs??

Many thanks

I think its a new wheel, but it looks a lot like the Per4Mer. First of
all, it looks quite nice, but is pretty plasticy and tacky (even the
wheel itself is made of plastic). There are plenty of buttons on it (8
in fact!), plus one of those paddles that real F1 cars have to change
gears, which comes in very handy but is extremely flimsy.

The wheel is at an unusual angle which might take some getting used to,
and the pedals are crap. There's no way to get the wheel and pedals to
stay still while you are driving (the suckers don't work!), and it is
not very robust (mine has broken twice now, in only 2 months).

Basically, it looks ok and has some nice features, but I'd pay a bit
more for a T2 if I were you!

Many thanks for your information Dave. I'll have to consult the financial
manager (ie Wife) before I take the plunge.

...But no pedals come with it... They will work with it though if you
have or can get some separately.

While the force feedback wheels will add something to the mix, I am
unaware of any present or forthcoming sim that actually will use the
force feedback to give feedback that will help provide clues on how the
car is actually handling.  So far I don't know of any sims/games that
are approaching this aspect of force feedback.  Personally, I would say
go for the GP1 and keep the savings for a starter fund for a force
feedback wheel when a sim comes out that will use the features properly.
And by then we will know who the real winners are in the force feedback
wheel market.

Buying a GP wheel? What's the point of 70 bucks on a wheel with finger
pedals and brakes

You can take a look at my site to find lots of information about lots of
other wheels...
