Schumacher better then Villeneuve( 31 august, Gazetta on line)
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
This legendary circuit that on September 7th could give us better
indications for the possible winner of the 1997 championship, offered a
great confrontation between Michael Schumacher and Jacque Villeneuve
yesterday. Lap times for the German finally came down under 1'24", at
1'23"558, while Villeneuve set it at 1'24"266. In the afternoon the
Ferrari driver experimented with some new aerodynamic solutions.
"Yesterday I was pessimistic - said Shumi - because the car was 5th on
the grid, but today I am a bit more satisfied... we have worked for a
better asset of the car, although its not 100% yet !". Villeneuve, on
the other end, concentrated on brakes and tyres. It's interesting to
note that this year, where competitiveness has reached an all time high
(finally), even free testing draws many people at the race tracks
(15,000 average per day at Monza during these 4 days), and others
looking for the latest news out of newspapers and/or web pages on a
daily basis. IT'S ABOUT TIME !!!
