Ralf Schumacher into German Army( 13 august, F1-InterMag)
---------------------------------------------------------
Ralf Schumacher has to join the German Army in November 1997. After a
physical test on which he scored 2 he was allowed into the army. Michael
his brother scored 5 on that same test and not has to go into the German
army. The German army is flexible and will let Ralf join all test
sessions and Grand Prix's. All this means that Ralf is in very good
physical condition.

Prost team posts fastest-ever lap( 13 august, AFP)
---------------------------------------------------------
Italian Formula One driver Jarno Trulli clocked the fastest lap ever
recorded at the Mugello circuit Wednesday at the wheel of his Prost
Grand Prix car. Trulli clocked a best lap time of 1min 25.120sec while
testing at the Tuscany circuit, averaging 221.828 km/h. He beat the
previous best mark of 1:25.252 set by Michael Schumacher's Ferrari in a
private practice session on April 3. Though a boost for team morale,
Trulli's time like Schumacher's could not be recorded as an official lap
record since they can only be clocked during races or official
qualifying sessions. The Prost team are joined for this week's practice
sessions by Sauber drivers Johnny Herbert, who finished third in
Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix, and Gianni Morbidelli.

Some interesting facts( 15 august, F1-InterMag)
-----------------------------------------------
Do you remember or know which GP and in which country the one and only
GP finished with all started cars? It was the GP of Holland in the year
1961(Zandvoort). All 15 started cars finished that GP. Did you know
which GP had the largest amount of starters? It was the GP of Germany in
the year 1953. The number was 34. Did you know that the GP of Argentina
in the year 1958 had the smallest startingfield; 10 cars started that
GP. Did you know that Jackie Stewart had the biggest advantage at the
finish of the 1969 Spanish GP at his next opponent, Bruce Mclaren. It
was 2 laps. The smallest advantage at the finishline had Peter Gethin on
his opponent Ronnie Peterson, it was 0.010sec.The youngest GP winnner
was Bruce Mclaren at the age of 22 years.

If I remember correctly from when I was stationed in Germany in the U.S.
Army, all German men get called up for national service sometime between
18 and I don't know. They either do a short stint in the military or a
little longer service at some other type of national work. I got to
stay  with my battalion's German partnership battalion, the 302 Panzer
Grenadier Battallion, and it was a blast! Really cool 4wd truck! a
Mercedes Unimog, that thing was unstoppable! I doubt they German Army
will make him miss any F1 time; it will be great pr for them to have lil
Schumi.

BTW, any German readers, please correct me on any mistakes.
BTW2, I also stayed w/ our French partnership battalion, the 24th Groupe
De Chasseurs(probably spelled that wrong) Man do those guy's eat well!
cool rifles too!
