Hi folks,

I just bought IndyCar Racing from Papyrus and I love the game, but I
have a question.  The manual says that the Buick engine has the most
peak power, but when I play Michigan, I can only avg about 221 mph.

My friend, who has really been pompous lately, simply overrevs his
Chevy C to 13,600 rpm in 6th gear and has average over 230 mph at
Michigan.  The Chevy C never blows!

What's the deal?  Can I get more power from my Buick and shut my friend
up, or do I start frying up some crow and switch to the Chevy C?

BTW, what's the best average at Michigan out there on the net?

Well, I don't know about the Buick, I can't get it to run fast either, I
used in the INDY 500: The Simulation and could turn laps at 232, the power
doesn't seem to come through in Indycar.  Try using the Cosworth, I have
managed about 234 at Michigan, with just the ACE settings.

Good luck.

Change the gearing - overrev the thing and drop your wings to 3.0/3.0,
work on tires and suspension until you can hang on in the turns, and
240mph should be possible...

It will blow if he does that for 40 laps, since the coolant temps will
continually climb untill she blows....

Run the Ford for the best compromise. It has more grunt than the chevy
coming out of turn 2 or 4.

I think 243.somthing

I ran a 240.799mph with the Ford/XB engine, and can pretty much guarantee
a qual run of above 238 every time, unless the wind is ***. During the
race it's a totally different story, though.

In I500 you can run 232 easily with any engine.  But the Buick of course
was the best, with my fastest lap being 36.99 seconds; 243.30 mph.  Using
mouse control on the Amiga.
