GP500 Demo Thoughts

Im pleased to see another bike sim. Its by far the most realistic bike game,
but still far away from the real thing. First thing i noticed was it runs
smooth :), the starts seem to be impossible without doing a mono or
"wheelie". I race road bikes at national level, and have never had a bike
that is so impossible not to mono. The turning seems to be wrong also, fully
cranked over and it still goes straight, this could be setup or just the
physics model. Crashes were a dissapointment, but still better than any
other  bike game. No wheelspin, but i was able to get the rear wheel off the
ground under braking, you cant highside.. with the joystick, you can keep
changing down gears once you are in first, and if u keep changing up when
your in 6th it actually changes down, but still says your in 6th. There is
no lisencing, but the AI's names are easily reckignisable  (however u spell
it :) ). With a few small things fixed this could be a really good game..
What ever happened to that WSBK game?

Greets,

Recent ex-racer here and I agree. This game has many good points but just as
many that are wrong also that really makes it disappointing to me.

I realize this is a demo but I simply can not understand how a game company that
claims their game is a sim can get so many things incorrect. Maybe they'll get
fixed before the final but I'm not getting my hopes up.

WSKB. That's another game that had good points but even more bad points. Can you
say steering dampener set WAY too stiff?

Someday they will make a great accurate cycle roadrace sim. I'll probably be
gray haired by then. We'll see what those AMA game designers can come up with.
:)
