I cant afford to upgrade for a long time. Will this cut it?

Even if Nascar Racing 3 is at the moment around 1year from today, your
specifications are around the minimum specifications for N3.  That means
acceptable framerate in 640x480 with about every graphics on the screen.

That is speculating, but "intelligently" ;-P

NASCAR 99 is a game for PlayStation and PC by EA Sports
with an arcade theme.  This does not use the GPL engine.

N3 is NASCAR Racing 3 by Papyrus (published by Sierra Sports)
that is very much a simulator.  This is the GPL Engine.

Yes.  There are.

Huh?? So now its release date is Summer '99? I still expected it around
Christmas '98... Say, that it isn't so!

Ooooh, this would then push CART(2/3?) even further back in '99, which
is
even worse.

Maybe, maybe not, but on the bright side, N3 won't be out for a long
time either.

Computer *** World has some info wrong.  N3 will be using the Grand Prix
Legends engine.  I can't comment anymore than that though but there is alot
of mis-information going around about N3/N99....etc.

Yep, that's exactly where I saw it...in Computer ***
World....specifically...

CGW page 105  September 98

NASCAR 99
Sierra Sports

"...Dave Kaemmer and the team at Papyrus are roaring back this winter
with NASCAR Racing 99..."   "...The new engine, also featured in their
upcoming Grand Prix Legends, is perhaps the best ever..."

I guess CGW really blew it if they are THAT wrong.  Thanks for the
clarification.
